Supporting Autistic People

Jim Sinclair and Moosepuppy Animal Rescue

I have been asked to pass this message on and am happy to oblige.

Moosepuppy Animal Rescue is Jim Sinclair’s animal rescue, which just
got slammed with catastrophic vet bills in the past month (a long
story Jim will likely share with you if you ask him). I’m asking
everyone who has ever gained understanding, enlightenment,
encouragement etc from Jim’s essay “Don’t Mourn for Us” to now take
the opportunity to do something for Jim and to go, every day, to
http://www.theanimalrescuesite.com/clickToGive/shelterchallenge.faces?siteId=3
, and enter “moosepuppy” as the shelter search term and NY as the
state, which will get Moosepuppy Animal Rescue to show up, and then
vote for that. You can enter one vote each day. At the end of the
challenge, on December 15, the animal shelters or rescues with the
most votes will win money.

And considering how often many of us have passed “Don’t Mourn for Us”
on, you might want to pass this on too….

And if you have never read “Don’t Mourn for Us” it is as relevant now as it was when it was first penned in 1993. Yes, there were autistic adults back then trying to explain autism to parents.
